QUESTIONS

ANSWERS
1. What does the accuracy of the VETTA speed sensor depend
on? Does the accuracy of the speed sensor depend on the location of the magnet along
the radius of the wheel (the spoke)?
No, the accuracy of the speed sensor does not depend on the location of the magnet
along the radius of the wheel. The magnet only determines the number of revolutions,
which is the same when measured at any point along the radius of the wheel. After
you calibrate the computer with the circumference measurement of your tire, the
computer will automatically use your tire circumference and the number of revolutions
to determine speed. However, please make sure the distance between the wireless
speed sensor and the head unit is within 24 inches.
2. Will my VETTA V100 wireless computer work on Recumbent Bikes?
No, the V110 wireless computer does not work on recumbent bikes since the maximum
transmission distance for the wireless speed sensor is approximately 24 inches.
However, our extended wired mounting kit for the V100 will work on your recumbent
bike.
3. Is my VETTA cycling computer water resistant?
Yes, all VETTA computers are water resistant up to 30 meters.
4. How do I get the cadence screen to display on the LCD?
The cadence screen will only be accessible once the unit receives a signal from
the cadence sensor. It will disappear once you reset your computer.
5. My wireless speed VETTA computer worked yesterday, but it
is not working today. What can I do?
There are several possibilities as to why your computer is not working anymore.
Below is a list of possible solutions. Please check to see which one pertains to
you.
- If the “wrench” icon has appeared on the display, please
replace the battery in the head unit.
- The speed sensor and the magnet could be misaligned.
Please make sure that they are within 1 to 5mm from each other. Also, please make
sure the distance between the wireless speed sensor and the head unit is within
24 inches.
- There could be accumulated time under the ride time/total
time (RT/TT) function, Please access the RT/TT screen by pressing button #2 and
then reset both timers to “zero”. Spin the wheel to see if your computer is receiving
a signal from the wireless speed sensor again.
6. My tire size is not listed on the circumference chart in the manual. How
can I determine what circumference number I should use to calibrate my computer?
You have to measure your wheel circumference manually.Mark the tire and a spot on
the floor. Roll the wheel forward one complete revolution until the tire mark touches
the floor again and mark that spot. Measure the distance between the marks on the
floor in millimeters and enter the result into the computer. (1 inch = 25.4 mm)
7. There is a “wrench” icon appearing on the display. What does it mean and
how can I get rid of it?
If the “wrench” icon stays on the screen permanently, then the battery in the head
unit is low.By replacing the battery, you can remove the icon from the screen. If
the icon flashes slowly, then the computer is informing you that the service time
has been reached. You can remove the icon from the screen by resetting the service
timer. Finally, if the icon flashes rapidly, then the battery in the head unit is
low and the service time has been reached. You can get rid of the flashing icon
by replacing the battery and resetting the service timer.

on the rear wheel?

from the V100 computer for reliable transmission. However, you can purchase the
extended wired
mounting kit if you need to mount the speed sensor on your rear wheel.

18. My VETTA computer has dark spots and is hard to read. What can I do to fix
this problem?
You may experience dark spots on your cycling computer screen if you ride with polarized
sunglasses. A polarized filter will sometimes react with the lamination on LCD instruments
creating blind spots and causing difficulty in reading the screen. We would suggest
wearing a pair of non-polarized sunglasses if you do see dark spots.
19. Where should I mount my VETTA wireless speed sensor? What should I be aware
of when I mount my sensor?
You can mount the wireless speed sensor anywhere on the left side of the fork. However,
please make sure of the following:
- The gap between the area where the word “magnet” is printed
on the speed sensor and the magnet is within 1 to 5mm of each other.
- The distance between the head unit and the speed sensor
is within 24 inches.
20. Why is my VETTA wireless computer showing unusually high readings on my
maximum speed?
The unusually high speed readout that you are experiencing is typically due to interference
from an outside electrical field, such as power lines, security systems, radios
towers, home computers, etc. Unfortunately, there is no solution for this since
the FCC requires devices like cycling computers to function under these outside
interference.
21. How long will the batteries in my VETTA wireless sensor last?
The battery on both wireless speed and cadence sensors should last for 60 hours
